Meet Dr. Iris Miao (Katy, TX)

Dr. Iris Miao grew up in Katy, TX. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin before completing her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Miao then pursued a residency in cornea and contact lenses at the University of Alabama, where she gained expertise in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with irregular corneas secondary to keratoconus, corneal scarring, and post-surgical complications.

Dr. Miao specializes in fitting a variety of contact lenses, such as gas permeable, hybrid, and scleral lenses. She is also certified in corneal reshaping technology (CRT) for myopia control through orthokeratology. As a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist, she is experienced in managing ocular conditions like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. Dr. Miao is also an active member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and the American Optometric Association (AOA) and has earned Fellowships in both the American Academy of Optometry and the Scleral Lens Education Society. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys drawing, painting, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends.
